Developed at Atenas de Córdoba, one of the most respected clubs in the LNB, Sarmiento moved to Italy in 2023 to join the Assigeco Piacenza project. In his first season he dominated the Under 17 Eccellenza with 19.8 points per game and repeated his level in the Under 19 category and Serie C with Robur et Fides.
